The mission of the Award Committee is to recognize homeowners, neighborhoods, businesses, industries and other entities whose endeavors to create and maintain attractive landscaping and décor serve as an inspiration to others in the community, and to recognize individuals whose volunteer efforts exemplify the purposes of the Auburn Beautification Council.
For the present, two categories are defined:
- Recognition for revitalizing a home, business, industrial site, or other entity
- Recognition for landscaping excellence at a home, business, industrial site, or other entity which serves as an inspiration to the community
In either case, the award will be a “Loveliest Village Award,” with accompanying publicity specifying whether the award relates to category number one or number two. Both will be recognized by the placement of an appropriate sign on the property. The sign will utilize ABC’s new logo, above.
In addition, a third means of recognition was determined:
Pat on the Back Award
- "Pat on the Back Award" – A certificate of recognition for individuals or organizations who, by their deeds, have contributed to the beautification of Auburn.
